Love and marriage

Dr. Grumpy: "How's your memory been?"

Mr. Amana: "I'm doing fine."

Mrs. Amana: "You're NOT doing fine! Last night you couldn't even remember how to work the microwave!"

Mr. Amana: "So what? It's the most complex damn thing in the house."

Mrs. Amana: "That's beside the point. I have no trouble working it."

Mr. Amana: "Could have fooled me. I have to eat your cooking."

At least they have an oven. I would really love to have a working oven.

Well I think he's smarter than me because I'm terrible at working microwaves...

Mr. Amana may have to go on a bread and water diet after that remark to the cook.

So is sarcasm the last to go?

Do all long term marrieds wind up like the bickersons. I think it might have something to do with the impending parting, knowing it is coming produces a sharpness between partners--sort of easing the emotional toll to follow.
